Do wool pellets work well with tomatoes?

Do wool pellets work well with tomatoes?

I get this question a lot. Tomatoes are one of the most commonly grown vegetables in backyard gardens, so naturally you're wondering if wool pellets can help your tomato plants.

Pictures speak a thousand words, so I'm going to leave these tomato progress pictures here from one of our customers, Ryan, in eastern Tennessee:

As you can see, he put wool pellets on the left side of this raised garden bed and none on the right side. And wow! This just shows what a difference wool pellets can make! The wool pellets slowly release nutrients continuously throughout the 6 months it takes them to biodegrade in the soil, eliminating the need to fertilize after the initial application of wool pellets. Plus, the water retention keeps your soil from drying out as quickly. So if you were ever hesitant to use wool pellets with your tomato plants, let this show you that wool pellets can definitely help!

Thanks again for sending us these photos Ryan! If you have any pictures or feedback on how wool pellets are helping your garden, please send them to krpelletco@gmail.com.
