Are wool pellets an effective fertilizer?

Are wool pellets an effective fertilizer?

The short answer is yes! Wool is an amazing fiber and we are applying these benefits into your garden and house plants. The most beneficial trait of wool pellets is their ability to retain water. Our wool pellets hold more than 3x their weight in water and with their constant expansion and contraction, they’ll increase the porosity of your soil which brings nutrients to the roots of your plants. But that's not all! The release curve of wool pellets is constant throughout the growing season. They begin releasing nitrogen, potassium, and other micronutrients immediately and continue to do so as they slowly biodegrade over 6 months. The NPK values for our wool pellets are 7.8-0.5-5.0. Also in case you missed it, read our blog all about our research trial with a local market vegetable producer! We found higher yielding broccoli and potatoes in the wool pellet beds! But you don't just have to take my word for it. Below I've linked several research articles highlighting the effectiveness of wool pellets:

The optimum application rate for wool pellets is 2-5% of the soil volume which equates to ½ cup per gallon of soil or 1 pound per 10 sq. ft.
